Celebrate With Us!
Join us for some March Madness fun with a Leprechaun Hunt! Leprechauns will be scattered across WPR various parks and playgrounds for all to find. Collect 5 and turn them in to our office to receive a prize (limit one per person) and be entered into the Grand Prize drawing! This event will take place March 10 - 17. Once the leprechauns are found and picked up, they won't be replaced. So grab your family and let the hunt begin!
We're back in the pool for our March 12 Night Owlz Fun Night! Register your child now for an evening of fun while you get that well-deserved break. We will play games, eat, do crafts, and watch a movie from 6 - 9pm. Night Owlz is for kids 7 - 14 years old.
It's a Four-Leaf Clover Fest at the Pool! Join us on Saturday, March 13 from 1 - 3pm. Bring your goggles and join us for a fun filled scavenger hunt, decorate your own shamrock, and master the climbing wall. Fun for the whole family! Special event pricing is only $2 per person!

Get your team together and register for the Adult Spring Indoor Volleyball Recreational and Competitive Leagues. Eight game season starting in March, for only $120 for the Recreation league per team and $240 for the Competitive league per team. Register before March 7!
Registration is open for the spring season of Adult Softball, Coed and Men's Leagues. “Out of the Park” prices this season - only $350 per team for 10 games!!! The season starts late March and ends in May. Limited spots - gather your friends and get a team in the league by March 14!
Are you ready to sink a few bags?! Grab a friend and register for the Spring Adult Cornhole League. Games will be on Wednesday evenings beginning in April. Only $40/team - register by March 28.
We are bringing Adult Grass Volleyball back! Grab your friends and register your team before March 28. Games will be played on Thursday evenings starting in April.
Join Widefield Parks & Recreation and Security Public Library for our NEW Aspen Teen Club where teens can hang out together for free in a fun and safe environment. We will have snacks, drinks, games, Chromebooks, hot spots, coloring, crafts, yard games, athletic equipment, and more! We've now added special swimming days too! Keep an eye on our social media pages for our monthly Virtual Art Challenges! Each month there is a new theme (March is animal photography). Participants will have two weeks to submit their photo, then the public will vote for a winner on our Facebook page.
How does your garden grow? Come be a part of our newly remodeled Community Garden at Talbott Park. New 6'x8' plots are now available to rent for the 2021 growing season! Annual fee is only $25 per lot (plus a one-time $25 deposit).

Are you interested in Martial Arts? Now is your chance to try it out! Register now for the Intro to Martial Arts Mini-Camp. This Mini-Camp is for kids ages 7 - 11 years and will take place on Thursday evenings in April.
Preschool registration for the 2021/2022 school year will open on Monday, March 22. We offer separate programs for 3 and 4 year olds in order to meet the needs of each student, providing them the opportunity to love learning while preparing them for Kindergarten. Check the Preschool page on our website for details. Register early to secure your child's spot and receive the early bird discount!

Spring Break Fun!
Come swim with us during Spring Break! Special Open Swim sessions will be available Monday, March 22 - Saturday, March 27 at 1 - 2:30pm and 3 - 4:30pm.
Calling all 7th - 12 grade swimmers to refine your stroke technique in our Spring Break Stroke Clinic. Swimmers will have the opportunity to refine their stroke technique in all four strokes for more efficient swimming and faster racing. Register to secure your spot!
Challenger Soccer is back for a Spring Break camp! The program for 6 - 10 year olds focuses on a fun-packed curriculum of foot skills, practices and coached games. Register at challengersports.com.
Learn proper stroke mechanics and the fundamentals of the game during our Spring Break Tennis lessons on March 24 & 25. Lessons are available for players 4 years old through 8th grade. Limited space - register now!
NEW - CTE Spotlights for 8th - 11 graders! Explore how your interests and skills can impact the world! Spotlights will include Mill Pathways, Automotive, Music Technology, Nutrition, and Financial Literacy. Choose one or all spotlights - demonstrations or hands-on activities in each. Spotlights are free - registration is required.
Join us for Virtual Cooks in the Kitchen - Packable Picnic on March 23 & 24. Fifth through eighth graders will learn how to follow basic recipes and prepare some delicious dishes. Register now!
Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day event will be held on Friday, March 26.. In partnership with El Paso County, we will be collecting residential household hazardous waste items from Widefield & Security residents. Please visit our website for details and a list of accepted items (no trash dumpsters). Pre-registration is required at cleansweepmarch2021.eventbrite.com. We will also be collecting monetary donations for the Aaron Gutierrez Scholarship fund - these donations help kids in our community play!
Facility Expansion Committee
We are accepting applications for community members to join our facility expansion committee. Selected members will work with staff to discuss the need for expansion, provide feedback, and help communicate to the greater community construction concepts, timeline for completion, and the positive impact on programming. The committee will meet from 5 - 6pm on March 31, April 14, and April 28. If interested, please fill out this google form application.
