Fitness Programs

Orientation to Fitness Area
Mondays @ 10am

30 minute orientation class touring the fitness area, reviewing safety rules and how to properly use machines and equipment. This is NOT a personal training session, but a chance to familiarize yourself with equipment and feel confident in working out safely after the orientation. We recommend everyone take this course prior to using fitness area.


Minimum Age: 12 (Minimum to use area w/ Adult Supervision)

Martial Arts - Goju Ryu Karate

Develop self-awareness and confidence with GOJU-RYU KARATE - a comprehensive martial art derived from the Okinawan system of self-defense. All skill levels, 7 years through adults can benefit from this program by relieving stress, help with weight loss, flexibility, balance, stamina, coordination, and assist in self control.

Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays @ 6 - 7:30 pm 

Classes are offered year-round.  Class dates are subject to change per building schedule.

Sessions:
March & April Session: $135 
May & June Session: $112.50 (no class on May 26 & June 16)
July & August Session: $127.50
 

High School Training Camp 

Grades: 9th - 12th 
Location: WPR Recreation Center 

This program will offer off-season training for high school athletes, focusing on speed, agility, reaction, flexibility, and more! Join us to get in shape for your next season! 

 MARCH & APRIL SESSION:
Saturdays, March 1 - April 12 @ 10 - 11:30am 
   (no class on March 29)
Fee: $45 per participant

MAY & JUNE SESSION:
Saturdays, May 3 - June 14 @ 10 - 11:30am 
   (no class on May 17)
Fee: $45 per participant

JULY & AUGUST SESSION:
Thursdays, July 10 - August 14 @ 7 - 8pm 
 Fee: $36 per participant

Kids on Bikes
Tuesdays @ 9:30 - 11am

Grades: 6th - 12th 
Location: WPR Green Field Parking Lot 

All middle and high school students are invited to join Kids on Bikes and Widefield Parks and Rec for a free cycling program! Kids on Bikes will provide bikes and helmets to all participants.  Participants are able to take the bike and helmet home for FREE on the last day if they do not own a bike, or have a bike that is broken or does not fit them at home. We will go on community rides, review bike skills, and learn some basic bike mechanics. Bring a water bottle and a snack, wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes.

Health Education Classes @ 6:30 - 7:30pm
Location: WPR Meeting Rooms

Join us for free education classes, brought to you by Highroots Wellness & Consulting. These classes will cover different topics regarding ways you can improve your overall health. No registration is required, however seating will be on a first come, first serve basis.
