Holiday Tree Lighting

Bring the entire family to the 20th annual celebration at Widefield Parks & Recreation to enjoy free youth activities, s'mores, cookies, hot cocoa, and more. This year we will have live reindeer! Enjoy the holiday atmosphere of carolers, Santa, and shopping at the craft fair. New toys will be collected at the Recreation Center during November through the tree lighting.

Join us for some free, fun, family-friendly entertainment at our Movies in the Park! We will have the big screen set up and viewable for all spectators. Each movie will feature a food truck and activities before the movie begins!
Movies will start at dusk.

Trunk or Treat &
Movie in the Park

Join us for our Trunk or Treat and Movie in the park at Widefield Parks & Recreation. The Trunk or Treat will take place prior to the Movie. Put on your costume and come join the fun! Movie will start at dusk.
Monster Smash Workout Week

Complete the 12 fitness related challenges (max of 1/day) to receive a 2025 WPR Fitness Ornament and be entered to win a Grand Prize of a $100 Scheels gift card. Pick up y our challenge sheet at guest services starting November 24.
Leprechaun Hunt

Come join us for some March Madness fun with a Leprechaun Hunt!
Collect pictures with 5 different St. Patrick's Day themed items, and submit them to the Google Form to win a prize and be entered into the Grand Prize drawing! Items will be scattered across Widefield Parks & Recreation’s various parks for all to find.
This event lasts the entire week, starting on March 10, culminating on March 17. Grab your family and let the hunt begin!

Day Without Hate Celebration

A Day Without Hate is a celebration of unity, a rejection of fear, and a commitment to work towards nonviolent solutions to any conflict. Join us for our Day Without Hate Celebration featuring activities, music, free swimming & gym play for WSD3 students, and more!
The WSD3 school with the most representation will win a prize!
Tracy Vsetecka Memorial Walk

Join us for the 7th Annual Tracy Vsetecka Memorial Walk.
Tracy Vsetecka was a principal in the Widefield School District for over 13 years. Her unexpected passing in 2019, affected many throughout the community. Her family has joined with Widefield Parks and Recreation and Woodland Wanderers to extend her celebration of life and enjoyment of exercise to the community with a noncompetitive walking event in her honor.
New this year, we have added a community bike ride, presented by the Security Lions Club.
Join us for a free walk or community bike ride and an opportunity to donate to the Tracy Vsetecka Scholarship Fund to continue her legacy.
