Celebration at the Pool 
Help us honor our military town and come celebrate Veterans Day with us! Join us for fun Water Bingo and prizes on November 11 from 1 to 2:30pm! Please register your party for guaranteed entry! 

Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration
Bring the entire family to the 18th annual celebration at Widefield Parks & Recreation to enjoy free youth activities, s'mores, cookies, hot cocoa, and more. Enjoy the holiday atmosphere of carolers, Santa, and shopping at the craft fair. Gently used or new coats and new toys will be collected at the Recreation Center during November through the tree lighting. Date: Tuesday, December 5 @ 5:30 - 7:30pm. All Ages. FREE

Painting P-art-y - Winter Cabin Scene
This adult painting class is for beginners and seasoned painters alike. You will be taken step-by-step through a winter cabin scene to take home and enjoy. Participants will learn mixing techniques and layering effects. No previous knowledge is necessary. Our art instructor directs you through the painting process to help bring out your inner artist. Every student will walk away with a canvas painting. No need to bring anything with you except your creativity! Date: Wednesday, November 15 @ 6:30 - 8:30pm. Ages: 16+. Fee: $25. Location: WPR Meeting Room.  Register by November 13.

Crafting with Ms. P - Patriotic Gnomes
Join Ms. P for this fun adult crafting class and make patriotic gnomes. Date: November 6 @ 8am - 12pm. Ages: 18+. Fee: $45. Location: WPR Meeting Room. Register by November 1. 

Crafty Tumblers
Learn how to make a custom tumbler in this class. Each participant will be taken step by step through the process of designing and bringing their vision to life. The tumbler creation is a multi-step process, requiring drying time between sessions. You will be able to pick up your finished tumbler on November 22! Join us to make a creation you can use for years to come. Date: Monday, November 20 - Tuesday, November 21 @ 6 - 8pm. Ages: 16 & Up. Fee: $45. Location: WPR Meeting Room. Register by November 10. 

Thanksgiving Turkey Craft
In honor of Thanksgiving, we will be crafting a Thankful Turkey Box to fill with thankful notes and treats. Be ready to use your coloring, cutting, and gluing skills in this holiday themed class. Date: Monday, November 20 @ 10am - 12pm. Ages: 6-15. Fee: $20. Register by November 13.  

Crafting with Ms. P - Pot Gnomes
Join Ms. P for this fun youth crafting class and make pot gnomes. Date: Thursday, November 20 @ 12:30 - 4:30pm. Ages: 8-16. Fee: $45. Location: WPR Meeting Room. Register by November 13.

Drop-In Basketball, Pickleball, or Volleyball
The WPR Recreation Center has designated times for members to “Drop-in” to play one of three sports including Basketball, Pickleball, & Volleyball. Designated times areas reserved for this play, however, when the gym is “Open Gym” you may also use a daily admission or membership to access the gymnasium. We post a Weekly Gymnasium Schedule on the Recreation Center page of our website so you can stay in tune to when the space is available.

Teen Diversity Night
All teens need a place where they feel they belong. Teen Diversity Night provides a safe environment for teens to be themselves and come together to experience a safe night of inclusion and fun. Teen Diversity Night is a night bursting with games, arts & crafts, resources, and dinner. Date: Friday, November 10 @ 5 - 9pm at Mesa Ridge High School. Grades: 7th - 12th. Fee: FREE. Register by November 9. 

Hunter & Gatherer Camp
Learn and experience archery, fly making, nature, plant identification and more over Thanksgiving break!Participants will be given lessons and have hands-on practice time with archery and fly making as well as play games and create crafts that teach them about plants and nature. Date: Tuesday, November 21 @ 8am - 1pm. Ages: 8-14. Fee: $40. Register by November 16. 

Night Owlz 
We have openings in Night Owlz! Register your child for a fun night while parents take a well-deserved break from 6 - 9pm! Your child will have the opportunity to splash around in the pool, play games, create arts and crafts, and enjoy a movie to end the night. Pizza, juice, and pudding will be served for dinner. Ages: 7-12. Fee: $25. Date: November 17.

Hangout Hub
We have openings in the NEW Hangout Hub on Friday, January 19th @ 6-9pm! Teens will have the opportunity to splash around in the pool, play games, and participate in open gym activities at the new Recreation Center. Pizza, drinks, and pudding will be served for dinner. Ages: 11 - 14. Fee: $25. 

Adult Winter COED Volleyball League
Time to get registered for our winter indoor volleyball leagues. We offer competitive ($300) and recreational ($180) leagues. Games will be on Tuesdays and held at our new WPR Recreation Center. The deadline to register is January 7th! 

Adult Pickleball Lessons
Come learn the fundamentals of the fastest growing sport in America! We are offering 2-day lessons for $40! Sounds like a great dill! Make sure you register for our beginner or intermediate lessons! Relish the opportunity! Be sure to visit our website’s pickleball page for the full list of session dates. Great minds dink alike! 

Youth Basketball
Join us for basketball. Games will take place at the WPR Rec Center and at WSD3 schools on Saturdays between January 27 and March 16. Practices will be held on weekdays. Register by January 2. Grades Kindergarten - 5th welcome. Fee: $50 (7 Games)

CARA Basketball Skills Challenge
Showcase your passing, dribbling, and shooting skills! This is a free competition for boys and girls ages 6 - 13 (age as of 4/30/2024) on Thursday, January 11 at 5:30pm at the WPR Rec Center. Register onsite. 

6th - 8th Grade Volleyball
Middle schoolers are invited to play volleyball this winter. Games are on Saturdays between February 3 and March 16. Register by January 7. 6th - 8th Grade welcome. Fee: $40 (5 Games)

New classes! We will be adding multiple new classes, including Cycling, Intro to Weightlifting, HIIT, and different styles of Yoga!

Personal Training
Book our new one-on-one personalized Personal Training sessions (1 hour sessions). We have 4 different packages you can choose from starting at $188 for once a week sessions for one month. See our registration page for full pricing details.
We also offer a one time, free 30 minute Personal Training session where you can meet one of our Personal Trainers, discuss training methods, your goals, previous experience and any questions you may have! Register online now! 

Martial Arts - November & December
With martial arts as a foundation, participants have the opportunity to develop self-awareness and self-confidence. GOJU-RYU KARATE is a comprehensive martial art derived from the Okinawan system of self-defense. Participants of all skill levels can benefit from this program by relieving stress, help with weight loss, coordination, balance, flexibility, stamina, and assist in self-control. Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays in November/December @ 6 - 7:30pm (No class December 18, 20, 25, or 27). Ages: 7 and older. Fee: $97.50. Location: WPR Rec Center Fitness Room

Yogi Kids - November & December
An introductory youth yoga class with focus on relaxation, fun, and movement! Yoga is a great activity to start at a young age; it enhances flexibility, strength, coordination, body awareness, and confidence. Dates: Wednesdays in November & December @ 5 - 5:45pm. Grades: Kindergarten - 5th. Fee: $36. Location: WPR Rec Center Fitness Room

Upcoming Important Dates

December 5: Holiday Tree Lighting
December 18 - January 1: In order to complete a portion of the construction project all classes, activities and daily use at the Rec Center will be canceled - the pool will remain open. You will receive information in early December regarding your membership during that time.

Get Certified With Us! 

Blended Learning CPR & First Aid
This is a blended learning course that includes an online portion (approximately 4 hours) and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. Each participant must have a unique email address to obtain credit for the course. Please do not use the same email address for multiple registrations. Date: Saturday, November 18 @ 9 - 11am. Ages: 12+. Fee: $75. Location: WPR Meeting Room. Register by November 10.

Babysitting Boot Camp
This two-day class includes all of the skills and information covered in the American Red Cross Babysitting Class, plus Infant and Child CPR. This fun and interactive training includes lively discussions and real life problem-solving skills, how to handle emergencies and illnesses, basic care-giving skills, how to choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games, and how to effectively handle bedtime and discipline issues. Date: Monday, November 20 - Tuesday, November 21 @ 9am - 3pm. Ages: 11 - 15. Fee: $120. Location: WPR Meeting Room. Register by November 13.

  • If you would like your child to attend a Widefield School District 3 (WSD3) school that is NOT your neighborhood school next year (2024-2025), you may submit a Boundary Waiver to any of our schools.
