Create With Us!

This adult painting class is for beginners and seasoned painters alike. You will be taken step by step through a butterfly painting to take home and enjoy. Participants will learn mixing techniques and layering effects, no previous knowledge is necessary. Our art instructor directs you through the painting process to help bring out your inner artist. Every student will walk away with a canvas painting. No need to bring anything with you, except your creativity! Date: Wednesday, March 20 @ 6:30 - 8:30pm. Fee: $25. Ages: 16+. Register by March 13. 
 
In this class, kids will learn how to use unique techniques (without actually using glass) to make crafts that celebrate stained glass art. Be ready to get messy as we use glue, chalk pastels, paint, and more to make these colorful creations! Date: March 8 @ 2 - 4pm. Fee: $25. Ages 6-13. Register by February 29. 
 
This two-day art camp will focus on color, textures, and creativity. We will use different art techniques to create colorful paintings and crafts that celebrate the color wheel! Students will explore color theory by making crafts that focus on primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary colors, monochrome colors, and more. Date: Monday, March 25 & Tuesday, March 26 @ 1 - 2:30pm. Fee: $35. Ages 6-13. Register by March 18.

The WPR Recreation Center has designated “Drop-in” times to play Basketball, Pickleball, and/or Volleyball. During those times, areas are reserved and set up for this specific sport play, however, during “Open Gym” anyone who has paid for entry into the Recreation Center may use and access the gym for any sport or activity. We post a Weekly Gymnasium Schedule on the Recreation Center page of our website so you can stay in tune to when the space is available.
 
All teens need a place where they feel they belong. Teen Diversity Night provides a safe environment for teens to be themselves and come together to experience a safe night of inclusion and fun. Teen Diversity Night is a night bursting with games, arts & crafts, resources, and dinner. Date: Friday, March 8 @ 5 - 9pm at Mesa Ridge High School. Grades: 7th-12th. Fee: FREE. Register by March 7. 
 
We have openings in Night Owlz! Register your child for a fun night while you take a well-deserved break from 6 - 9pm! Your child will have the opportunity to splash around in the pool, play games, create arts and crafts, and enjoy a movie to end the night. Pizza, juice, and pudding will be served for dinner. Ages: 7-10. Fee: $25. Date: March 15  
 
Adult Spring Softball Leagues
Spring weather is coming up and it’s a perfect time to play some softball! Get the team together and sign up for our Monday Coed League or our Tuesday Men’s League. Team fee is only $450. Deadline to register is March 24! Season starts on April 1. 
 
Time to get the squad together for some bumping, setting, and spiking! Our indoor recreational league’s team registration fee is only $180. Games are on Tuesdays at the WPR Recreation Center. The deadline to register is March 10! Season starts on March 19. 
 
If playing volleyball on the grass surface and getting some Vitamin D is more your style, we offer our coed grass volleyball league. The team registration fee is only $150 and our registration deadline is March 31! Season starts on April 11. 
 
Time to get your squad together and sign up for our spring pickleball leagues! We offer morning leagues on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays as well as an Afternoon League on Mondays. Team registration fee is $120 for six weeks of play. Morning league registration deadline is February 25. Afternoon league registration deadline is March 10. It’s kind of a big Dill!
 
Time to sink some bags! Get your partner and register for our spring cornhole league! Matches are on Wednesday afternoons and team registration fee is only $50. Make sure you register before March 31! Season starts on April 10. 
 
Come learn the fundamentals of the fastest growing sport in America! We are offering 2-day lessons for $40! Sounds like a great dill! Make sure you register for our beginner or intermediate lessons! Relish the opportunity! Visit our website’s pickleball page for the full list of session dates. Great minds dink alike! 
 
Grab a few friends and come hoop with us! Saturday, March 30. An adult will need to be designated as your team representative, register the team, and join you on the sideline to help coach your team. We will communicate with the team representatives. 
Register by March 15. Team Fee: $75 (3 Games guaranteed)
 
CARA Lacrosse is a non-contact, modified version of lacrosse that is great for beginners. The only equipment required is a lacrosse stick. Games will be played on weekends at various locations across the state (participants are responsible for transportation to and from games). Coed Grades 1st-8th. The games will take place April 13 - May 11.
Register by March 4. Fee: $40
 
Youth Spring Outdoor Soccer
Join in the fun this spring and sign up for Coed Soccer for ages 4 years through 8th grade. The season’s games will take place from April 6 to May 11, on WSD3 fields.
Register by March 10. Fee: $40 (5 games)
 
Youth Spring Cheerleading
Register for our coed cheerleading teams for ages 4 years old to 5th grade. Cheer for a soccer team with great spirit at games that take place from April 6 - May 11, on WSD3 fields.

Tiny Tykes Soccer
Tiny Tykes is a FUNdamental program that teaches basic soccer skills while focusing on motor skill development, balance, coordination, concentration, listening skills, and teamwork of players ages 2-5. Sessions will take place Saturdays April 6 - May 11 at Windmill Mesa Park. A Spring Break session will be offered Monday - Friday, March 25 - March 29.

SkyHawks Colorado SuperTots
SuperTots programs develop motor skills, physical fitness, and instill a love of sports at a young age. Register for Baseball Tots that will take place on Wednesdays, April 3-April 24. 2 - 3 year olds will play from 10-10:45am and 4-5 year olds will play from 11-11:45am. Personal Training

We also offer a one time, free 30-minute Personal Training session where you can meet one of our personal trainers, discuss training methods, your goals, previous experience and any questions you may have! Register online now! 
 
With martial arts as a foundation, participants have the opportunity to develop self-awareness and self-confidence. GOJU-RYU KARATE is a comprehensive martial art derived from the Okinawan system of self-defense. Participants of all skill levels can benefit from this program by relieving stress, help with weight loss, coordination, balance, flexibility, stamina, and assist in self-control. We do recommend you come in to observe a class prior to registering to make sure this style of class will fit your needs. Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays in March & April @ 6 - 7:30pm. Ages: 7 and older. An introductory youth yoga class with focus on relaxation, fun, and movement! Yoga is a great activity to start at a young age; it enhances flexibility, strength, coordination, body awareness, and confidence. Dates: Wednesdays in March & April @ 5 - 5:45pm. Grades: Kindergarten - 5th. Fee: $48. Location: WPR Rec Center Fitness Room 1

High School Training Camp - March & April
High School Athlete Off-Season Training camp available for all high school students and athletes. The program is designed to develop and maximize the athletic abilities of all young students and athletes. We will be incorporating speed training (specifically explosive speed and ground force development), flexibility, agility training, and reactive training (both linear and lateral speed). We will also take time to discuss basic sport nutrition. Dates: Saturdays, March 9 - April 13 @ 10 - 11:30am. Fee: $45. Location: Meet at Fitness Room 1

NEW
Generation POUND - March & April
Generation POUND® was created not just as a workout geared towards kids, but a MOVEMENT that aims to change the concept of health and fitness for today’s youth. The program fuses movement and music to improve focus, coordination, physical fitness and teamwork skills for “Rockstars in Training”. Dates: Saturdays March 2 - April 6 @ 10 - 11am. Ages 6-12. Fee $36. Location: Fitness Room 2
 
Join us for a three day clinic to refine stroke technique in: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly. Dates: March 2, 9, & 16 from 11am - 1pm. Grades: 6th-12th. Fee: $60 

Get Certified with Us! 

This is a blended learning course that includes an online portion (approximately 4 hours) and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. Each participant must have a unique email address to obtain credit for the course. Please do not use the same email address for multiple registrations. Date: Saturday, March 9 @ 9 - 11am. Fee: $75. Ages: 11+. Register by February 29. 
 
American Red Cross Certification Class Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course (online work plus 4-day session) receive an American Red Cross certificate for oxygen administration, valid for 1 year and Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years.
Dates: March 25 - March 29 from 9am - 2pm. Ages: 15 and Up. Fee: $180 per student. Register by March 8, 2024. 
 

Improvements to our Main Campus and Parks

New Turf Field

We will be converting the Widick soccer/multi purpose field located on our main campus from grass to artificial turf. The new field will feature a full size soccer field and have lines for smaller youth sized fields to be used for a variety of sports, activities, and programs. Estimated completion will be June of 2024.

Trees

Starting the winter of 2024, Timberline Landscaping will begin removing dead trees, trimming existing trees, and start planting new trees at all of our main campus and parks. Over the next ten years, WPR is committed to planting new trees every year for the community to enjoy for years to come.
