WPR Preschool 2024/2025 School Year

Preschool registration is open for the 2024/2025 school year! Limited spots available! More information and required paperwork can be found on our WPR Preschool website for our 3 year old and 4 year old programs!

WPR Child Watch

WPR has added NEW daytime hours from July 9 - August 9. In addition to our regular 3:45 - 7:45pm, we will be adding Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am - 12pm. Make sure you reserve your spot!

Brick Garden

WPR is creating a brick garden in front of the Recreation Center. The first round of bricks have been ordered. The construction of the garden will begin early August. If you missed ordering in May, the next order will be placed October 1. Order bricks here!

Watch With Us! 

Join us on Friday, July 12 at Dusk for our FREE Movie in the Park at Pi-Ute Park. We will be showing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem on the big screen. Food trucks Tuns of Fun Hot Dogs, Amazing Kettle Corn, and Kona Ice will be there. 

Create With Us!

This adult painting class is for beginners and seasoned painters alike. You will be taken step by step through a Mountain Scene painting to take home and enjoy. Learn about mixing techniques and layering effects, no previous knowledge is necessary. Our art instructor directs you through the painting process to help bring out your inner artist. Everyone will walk away with a painting. No need to bring anything with you, except your creativity!
Date: Wednesday, July 31  @ 6:30 - 8:30pm. Fee: $25. Ages: 16+. Register by July 29! 


Play With Us!

The Recreation Center has designated “Drop-in” times to play Basketball, Pickleball, and/or Volleyball. During those times, areas are reserved and set up for this specific sport play, however, during “Open Gym” anyone who has paid for entry into the Recreation Center may use and access the gym for any sport or activity. We post a Weekly Gymnasium Schedule on the Recreation Center page of our website so you can stay in tune to when the space is available.
 
Dive into summer with us at the Aquatics Center for Open Swim! Experience the thrill of our diving board, conquer our climbing wall, and navigate the exciting Wibit Bridge. Spaces fill up quickly, so secure your spot for each session you plan to attend to guarantee your entry!
 
 
Run in the Splash Park or float in our Baby Pools during our Parent/Tot open swim every Tuesday and Thursday for the summer from 11am - 12pm!
Children must be accompanied by an adult and must be within the age range of 6 months to 3 years. Splash Park and Baby Pools Only. Reservation is required.
Fee: Daily Admission 
 
Join us for some friendly competition on the court in our indoor volleyball league.
The team registration fee is only $180 and our registration deadline is July 28! Season starts on August 13!
 
Time to get your volleyball on! Our annual COED Trick-or-Tourney in October and COED Turkey Tourney in November are open for registration.
Only $150 per team with a 3 game guarantee. Winners take home holiday themed prizes!
 
Time to sink some bags! Get your partner and register for our fall cornhole league!
Matches are on Wednesday afternoons at Parks & Rec and team registration fee is only $50. Make sure you register before August 4! Season starts on August 14! 
 
Adult Softball Leagues
Fall is a great time to play some softball! Get your team together and sign up for our Monday Coed League or our Tuesday Men’s League. Team fee is only $450 for 10 games. Deadline to register is August 18! 
 
Come learn the fundamentals of the fastest growing sport in America! We are offering 2-day lessons for $40! Sounds like a great dill! Make sure you register for our beginner or intermediate lessons! Relish the opportunity! Visit our website’s pickleball page for the full list of session dates. Great minds dink alike! 
 
If you want to focus on specific pickleball skills, then this program is for you! You could sign up for Footwork and Strategy or Serving and Groundstrokes! These sessions are perfect for the player that just wants to hone their skills. Registration deadlines are the Sundays before each scheduled Tuesday sessions. Limited spots available!
 
Time to get your squad together and sign up for our pickleball league on Monday mornings. Registration fee is $30 per player for 18 games. League registration deadline is October 20. It’s kind of a big Dill! League begins on November 6.
 
This coed kickball tournament will be held at the WPR Recreation Campus. There will be a 3-game guarantee. Number of game nights will depend on the number of teams registered. Teams must field at least eight players and no more than 10; maximum of 16 players per team. Team Fee: $150.
 
This program gives youth the opportunity to participate in cross country meets against other youth in Colorado. Meets will be held on Saturdays at locations from Denver to Fort Collins (participants are responsible for transportation to and from meets). The season will last from September 3 to October 12. The program is for boys and girls ages 5-16. Weekly practices TBD at Widefield Parks and Recreation.
Register by September 1. Fee: $40.
 
Youth Fall Outdoor Soccer
Be part of the fun this fall and sign up for Coed Soccer. The games will take place from August 10 to September 28, on WSD3 fields. Weekly practices TBD by the volunteer coach. Register by July 14.
4 Years/Pre-K & 6th-8th Grade Fee: $40 (5 games) | K-5th Grade Fee: $50 (7 games)

Youth Fall Cheerleading
Register for our coed cheerleading teams and cheer for a flag football team with great spirit at games from August 10 to September 28, on WSD3 fields.
Weekly practices TBD by the volunteer coach.
Register by July 14. 4 Years/Pre-K  Fee: $40 (5 games) | K-5th Grade Fee: $50 (7 games)
 
Register for a basketball camp at WPR. We will provide skill development opportunities through drills, games, and instruction. The camp will take place at the Recreation Center Monday through Friday from 9am - 12pm on July 15 - July 19. Boys and girls camps for ages 7-13. Register by July 10. Fee: $50.
 
Join us for four, one-hour beginner lacrosse lessons at the WPR Widick Field on Tuesdays from 5pm - 6pm on September 3 - 24. The lessons are for boys and girls in grades Kindergarten - 5th Grade. All equipment is provided.
Register by August 27. Fee: $30.
 
Youth Indoor Soccer
This is a great opportunity to learn and develop fundamental soccer skills in a fun environment with an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.
Coed Soccer for ages 4 years through 5th grade.
The games will take place from October 26 to December 7.
Register by October 6. Fee: $40 (5 games)
 
Youth Volleyball League
This is a great opportunity to learn and develop fundamental volleyball skills in a fun environment with an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.
For grades Kindergarten - 5th Grade.
The games will take place from October 26 to December 7.
Register by September 29. Fee: $50 (7 games)
 
Tiny Tykes Soccer
A FUNdamental program that teaches basic soccer skills while focusing on motor skill development, balance, coordination, concentration, listening skills, and teamwork of players ages 2-5. Sessions run Saturdays July 22 - July 27, August 10 - September 14, and October 25 - December 7 at Windmill Mesa Park.

Personal Training
Book our new one-on-one personalized Personal Training sessions (1-hour sessions). We have 5 different packages you can choose from starting at $188 for once a week sessions for one month. See our registration page for full pricing details.
We also offer a one time, free 30-minute Personal Training session where you can meet one of our personal trainers, discuss training methods, your goals, previous experience and any questions you may have! Register online now!
We now offer a small group package (2-3 people) for a total of $260. This package allows a small group to workout together with one of our Personal Trainers, once a week for four weeks. Workout with friends and save money!
 
With martial arts as a foundation, participants have the opportunity to develop self-awareness and self-confidence. GOJU-RYU KARATE is a comprehensive martial art derived from the Okinawan system of self-defense. Participants of all skill levels can benefit from this program by relieving stress, help with weight loss, coordination, balance, flexibility, stamina, and assist in self-control. We do recommend you come in to observe a class prior to registering to make sure this style of class will fit your needs. Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays in July & August @ 6 - 7:30pm. Ages: 7 and older. Fee: $135.00. Location: Recreation Center Fitness Room 2

High School Training Camp - July & August
High School Athlete Off-Season Training camp available for all high school students and athletes. The program is designed to develop and maximize the athletic abilities of all young students and athletes. We will be incorporating speed training (specifically explosive speed and ground force development), flexibility, agility training, and reactive training (both linear and lateral speed). We will also take time to discuss basic sport nutrition. Dates: Saturdays, July 13 - August 17 @ 10 - 11:30am. Fee: $45. Location: Meet at the Recreation Center Fitness Room 1

Improvements to our Main Campus and Parks

New Widick Turf Field
The Widick Turf Field is complete. The primary purpose of the field is to support our youth and adult sports programs. When not in use by WPR and WSD3 schools, the field is available to use like all of our open space. Formal organized activities by outside groups require a field reservation permit. Please read and adhere to the rules and regulations posted on signs at all entrance gates.

From the School District

Free Summer Meals 
Widefield School District 3 is providing free summer meals to children under the age of 18. 
 
Dates: May 28 - August 2
Breakfast: 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Lunch: 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Locations: Widefield Parks and Recreation, Pinello Elementary, and Sunrise Elementary 
 
There is no sign up or forms to fill out to participate in this program. The meals will be provided weekdays (excluding holidays). Meals must be enjoyed on site. Menus can be viewed at https://wsd3ns.com/ under the menus tab and selecting any school and the meal period. Please contact Nutrition Services at (719) 391-3560 if there are any dietary or nutritional concerns. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
 
Widefield Backpack Bash
Registration is now open for the Widefield Backpack Bash!
What is the Widefield Backpack Bash?
  • It's a community event in which COSILoveYou helps WSD3 give out free backpacks and school supplies to students in our community.
  • Vendors are also present to provide families with resources and support for the school year.
Where and When is the Widefield Backpack Bash?
  • Saturday, August 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Grand Mountain School: 11060 Fontaine Blvd.
Is registration required?
  • All students wishing to receive a free backpack are required to pre-register. Preregistration is the only way to ensure you get your backpack.
