Youth Swim Lessons
American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim lessons for children ages 3 and up, to teach all abilities how to swim skillfully and safely. All aquatic and safety skills are taught in a logical progression by our certified staff. The first day of lessons will be an assessment, to place your child into the correct level for the duration of the swim lesson set.
Fee: $60 for 6 half-hour lessons
Registration opens July 1 for all Fall Swim Lesson Sessions! Check our website for dates and times of classes!

Tracy Vsetecka Memorial Walk
Tracy Vsetecka was a principal in Widefield School District 3 for over 13 years. Her unexpected passing affected many throughout the community. Tracy's engaging presence, positive nature, and ever-present smile made a lasting impact on all she knew and those she had only just met. Her family has joined with Widefield Parks and Recreation and Woodland Wanderers to extend her celebration of life and enjoyment of exercise to the community with a walking event in her honor. Join us for a walk down memory lane and an opportunity to donate to the Tracy Vsetecka Scholarship Fund (https://widefield.revtrak.net/administration/fountain-valley-scholars/#/v/tracy-vsetecka-scholarship-donation) to continue her legacy. Mini & Me First Notes Music Enrichment
Join these mini and me music classes for our youngest musicians, consisting of a mix of movement, children’s songs, and original music! Dates: Wednesdays in July @ 9:30 - 10:15am. Ages: Infant - 2 years.
Fee: $40. Register by July 4.

Painting P-art-y - Summer Clouds
This adult painting class is for beginners and seasoned painters alike. You will be taken step-by-step through a summer clouds painting to take home and enjoy. Participants will learn mixing techniques and layering effects, no previous knowledge is necessary. Our art instructor directs you through the painting process to help bring out your inner artist. Every student will walk away with a canvas painting. No need to bring anything with you, except your creativity!
Date: Wednesday, July 26 @ 6:30 - 8:30pm. Ages: 16&Up. Fee: $25. Register by July 19.

Best of Bear Trap
The 46 year tradition of students attending Bear Trap Ranch continues this summer!
Located in Pike National Forest, Bear Trap Ranch provides the accommodations for our trip to experience Colorado's great outdoors. Our experienced and qualified staff will lead 6th, 7th and 8th grade (as of 2023/2024 school year) students on a hike to a great vantage point to see Colorado Springs from a new perspective. Campers will also rappel a boulder face, learn about nature, leave no trace, sing around a campfire with s'mores, and stargaze during a night hike. A great trip for all students whether this is their first time in the mountains or they already appreciate the outdoors. The overnight adventure with great food, new experiences, and friends will be something your child remembers forever! Mandatory Parent Meeting July 26 @ 6pm at Widefield Parks and Recreation.
Dates: August 2 - 7:30am Depart from WPR, August 3 - 5:30pm Return to WPR. Fee: $125. Register in person by: July 21.

Summer Open Swim Hours are here! Prices changed from drop-in session rates to daily rates and are $6.50 for children/seniors and $7.50 for adults! Purchasing daily admission does not guarantee you spots for the full day, each swimmer must sign up for each desired session for the day as it is first come, first serve. Use our SignUp registration system to reserve your spot! See our website for Open Swim Hours membership options. .
The pool will be open until 2:30pm on July 4th! Make sure to SignUp your entire party and join us for our 1 - 2:30pm Open Swim!
The Pool will be closed on Sunday, July 9. We will be taking our staff to Water World to compete in the 2023 Lifeguard Games! Pools from all over Colorado will compete in relay races, saves, and emergency scenarios. Wish us luck and follow us on Social Media to see how we do!
Adult Pickleball Lessons
Come learn the fundamentals of the fastest growing sport in America! We are offering 2-day lessons for $40! Sounds like a great Dill! Make sure you register for our beginner or intermediate lessons! Relish the opportunity! Be sure to visit our website’s pickleball page for the full list of session dates. Great minds dink alike!
Adult Softball Leagues
Make sure to register your team for our upcoming fall softball leagues. The COED league will play on Mondays and Men’s league will play on Tuesdays. $450 to register your team for a 10-game season. Registration ends on July 23. Limited spots available!
Adult Volleyball Tournaments
Our annual Indoor Summer Slam tournament registration is now open! Dates are July 11, 18, and 25. This tournament has a 3 game guarantee and winners will receive BBQ and camp-out prizes! Format depends on the number of teams registered. Fee is only $150! Registration ends July 4!
Fall Adult Coed Indoor Volleyball Leagues
If you want more opportunities to get on the courts, socialize, and play, our fall coed leagues are for you! We offer recreational and competitive leagues on Tuesday nights. Competitive league is $300 and recreation is only $180! Be sure to get your team together and register by July 23!
Fall Adult Coed Grass Volleyball League
If you want to get a little sunshine while you play, we also offer a coed grass volleyball league this fall! Games take place at Windmill Mesa Park on Thursday afternoons. Team registration is only $150! Make sure to get your team registered by July 23!
Fall Adult Cornhole League
Fall cornhole league will be held at the WPR lower pavilion on Wednesday evenings. This is a self-officiated league for teams looking to have fun, socialize and sink a few bags! Only $40! Make sure you get in before July 23 to register!
Fall Cheer, Flag Football, & Soccer
Register by July 9 to play a fall sport with us. The youth cheer, flag football and soccer games will take place from August 5 to September 30. Flag football and cheerleading will be offered to children 4 years to 5th grade. Soccer will be offered to children 4 years to 8th grade. The cost for 4 years/Pre-K and 6th-8th divisions will be $40 for 5 games. Kindergarten to 5th grade will cost $50 and teams will play 7 games.
Soccer Camps by Challenger Sports
Challenger Sports is holding soccer camps at Widick Field July 10 - 14. Challenger offers various options during these camps for ages 2 to 14. To register for Challenger Sports visit their website at www.challengersports.com.
CARA Cross Country
Don’t miss this chance to compete in cross country meets against other youth throughout Colorado. Meets will be held on Saturdays at locations from Denver to Fort Collins (participants are responsible for transportation to and from meets). The season will take place between September 5 and October 14. Fee: $40.

We have many fitness classes to choose from, check us out! View our current schedule or pick one up at the pool or WPR Recreation Center. Prices have changed from drop-in rates to daily rates.
We have a new class starting July 17 - Fitness Orientation; Come in to take a tour of the fitness area, go over basic safety and gym etiquette topics and gain a firm understanding on how to properly and safely use all of our equipment. We recommend anyone who wants to use the fitness area to take this class. Dates: Monday’s @ 10 - 10:30am and Wednesday’s @ 3:30 - 4:00pm. You may also call to schedule a time for this class dependent upon instructor availability.
Martial Arts - July & August
With martial arts as a foundation, participants have the opportunity to develop self-awareness and self-confidence. GOJO-RYU KARATE is a comprehensive martial art derived from the Okinawan system of self-defense. Participants of all skill levels can benefit from this program by relieving stress, help with weight loss, coordination, balance, flexibility, stamina, and assist in self-control. Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays in July & August @ 6 - 7:30pm. Ages: 7 and older. Fee: $120.
Yogi Kids - July & August
Join us for introductory youth yoga classes that focus on relaxation, fun, and movement! Yoga is a great activity to start at a young age; it enhances flexibility, strength, coordination, body awareness, and confidence. Dates: Wednesdays in July & August @ 5 - 5:45pm (No class July 5). Grades: Kindergarten - 5th. Fee: $48.
WPR Recreation Center
Construction Update
The WPR Recreation Center construction is on schedule to be complete in the next couple of weeks. The staff have transitioned from the Community Center to the new building. We are preparing for the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on July 14, 2023. As the building is taking shape, the WPR staff are getting excited about all the opportunities the new space will have to continue to serve the community at a high level. New programs and events will be coming this fall. Follow the construction progress by visiting the WPR Recreation Center page on our website.
